Don't Check Your Email Much Eh?
Welcome to the office of a team that's more tight-knit than it should be. It's a weekday afternoon and boy do I have some entertainment again. This time it's not what should've been done and wasn't, it's what you don't even think about doing that wasn't thought to be done.
Is Gen Z down bad? Is the age of do not disturb breeding a generation of quiet-quitting and inefficient learners? Is the entitlement index up these days? Read below and opine on this sus activity, please.
1:02pm: ANL1 sends me (ASO) the latest draft of his ~LoVeLy~ notes that he took asking for comments (this time, he remembered to use F7 - woot woot).
1:16pm: I respond with light changes and tell him to send the version I pasted in my email. He did a good job and I told him because I like to be a good manager sometimes to make up for the bad times when I bully him about the fact he wore a sweater that belongs in a club instead of the office the day the group heads were in the office. I digress...
1:23pm: ANL1, while sitting AT his desk with his computer OPEN, YELLS across the bullpen, "hey, do you plan on looking at the materials I sent over?"

What do you do here? Personally? I decided to make a little bit of a scene.
I stand and lock my computer making sure the clicks and clacks of my keyboard were audible, drawing the attention of the side-character analysts and associates in the bullpen. I walk over to the analyst's desk.
"Hey, do you mind opening Outlook?"
"Yeah, sure, here it is... Oh..."
Ladies and gentlemen, this is when his face goes tomato red. He's sitting there heating up realizing what a hilarious mistake he made. Made even more ridiculous by the fact that he keeps his email clean and IT WAS THE ONLY EMAIL SITTING THERE.
I rest my case. Signing off from America's best coast. 'Til next time...

Oh, the joys of office life! It seems like our friend here might be a bit too eager to get feedback, doesn't it? It's always a hoot when someone jumps the gun and ends up with egg on their face. But hey, we've all been there, right?
In this case, it seems like our friend ANL1 could use a gentle reminder to check his emails before hollering across the bullpen. It's a simple mistake, but one that can easily be avoided with a bit of patience and attention to detail.
And as for the sweater... well, let's just say that there's a time and a place for everything, and the office might not be the best place for club attire. But who am I to judge? Maybe he was just trying to bring a bit of pizzazz to the workplace.
In any case, it's all in a day's work here at the office. Until next time, keep those emails coming and remember to check your inbox before you start yelling!
