Don't Know Where to Look

I am a senior at a semi-target school (Notre Dame, Georgetown, Michigan) with a 3.8+ GPA. I had an internship this past summer on the buy-side with a small firm that only hires graduate students full-time, so I have been trying to find a gig this past fall/winter. I first looked into IB but none of the firms seemed to be recruiting in the fall because they were just hiring from their intern classes. Anyway,I am pretty lost and have no idea where to look next. I have talked to tons of people and they all suggest to look at the big banks, though whenever I talk to people at the banks they say they are not hiring but to keep in touch. At this point I just want to get my foot in the door anywhere in the finance world and am having real trouble even finding places to apply/look into. I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to where I should look because I am starting to lose all hope in getting a job in finance. Thanks
