Dropping a Major after Offer

Hello Everyone, I was fortunate enough to receive an offer for 2021 SA at a BB. In the Resume that I used for recruiting, I had listed a double-major. Now that I got the offer, I am considering only doing one major instead of two. Can I do this? Or will there be trouble with HR during the background check?

bro don't worry about it no one cares about it at this point. you had intended to complete both those majors at the time of recruiting and presumably took some classes / were interested in both subjects and that's still valid. whatever your reasons are for dropping major #2 it's chill, HR's not going to dig into it during the background check. congrats on the offer!

I did the same thing- I emailed my contact in HR though, just to be sure. She got back to me like an hour later saying it was totally fine. It took 5 min but nice to have that peace of mind. I'd email just in case but it's probably fine.

Bump. Also accepted a BB offer for next summer and am most likely going to drop my second major but will keep finance as main. Do I need to let HR know that I'm dropping the major since I said I was doing it on my resume and in interviews?
