Work on moving to the NY team in a different group, you're already in the company and should be much easier. My firm (large BB) allows you to do your third year in a different group if you want.
EB's usually don't provide that option FYI. A lot easier to move around offices at a BB.
At an EB at one place you mentioned. I've seen one guy do it but he had to take a year back when transferring.
I went from MM energy to MM industrials if that helps. Took a 1 year set back as well. Definitely possible just need to have the motivation to do it. Recruiting and working at the same time can be exhausting but honestly helps that everything is virtual right now and you don’t have to travel
Did you go just change teams or banks as well? Will be at an MM for FT this summer and want to stay in IB but not energy.
I changed banks as well. I tried the internal thing but it’s difficult to do given internal politics involved
