EB FT recruiting?
Hi all,
Current BB SA (GS/MS/JPM) in a strong group in New York. Believe I’m one of the top interns in my class. Always liked the small, collegial vibe that I got from the EBs that’d recruit on campus. Love the people where I work now but would like to try to work at an EB/smaller bank where that collegial vibe is prominent /
(but still has heavy deal flow). Are EBs known to recruit FT? Feel like I never really hear about it.
Don’t mind going “downstream” to high deal flow MMs either—but not sure how to sell that story. Think HL, etc. are interesting, but since that’s not really a move people make (BB to MM), I’m afraid if I network right now it’ll look like I’m unconfident in getting a return offer from my internship. Don’t really care to optimize for prestige: I think IB is actually really interesting and I don’t plan to try to recruit just yet for buy-side/corp dev. Obviously that can change as the naivety that comes with being a summer intern washes away.
Grass is always greener on the other side bud. You sound retarded
Def try for EB, agree with you on the MM concerns. Think you’ll get a lot of questions and they might pass you over bc you’re “over-qualified”
overqualified? Really doubt anyone from a mm firm believes that a bb intern is smarter than them.
Agree with you, that’s why I had it in quotes. It’s not true but the optics say otherwise
