EB pays 240K An1
Is 240K the new norm of EBs compensation for Analyst 1, after the recent bump in base. Given that, most EBs now pay 110K as base? Did bonuses stand at their previous levels of around 100% of base, or did they decrease?
What about LDN
You’re saying An1’s are making
$130k bonuses? I find that really hard to believe, at least as a consistent data point at EBs aside from the 2020 outlier.
Probably including signing bonus. Not unrealistic for EVR, which paid $25k signing and $120k base. So assuming $95k annual bonus (80%) seems pretty reasonable.
Probably on the higher end still.
Would say that's on the higher end for sure for AN1.
The fact that number is actually within the realm of possibility and not laughably impossible is mind blowing. That’s all.
My analyst at Barclays in a good group cleared $200k all in first year. The fact that first years are touching $200k is absolutely wild imo but I guess that’s more or less industry standard these days
Really? What group. I work at Barc and so many of the second years left that I couldn’t really ask any.
NatRes. Friend in tech made $190k. Just a ridiculous year at all banks
GS TMT paid top bucket AN1 and AN2 around 230K - 250K all in this year.

i mean tech pays 200k for half the hours so 200k for An1 in IB not that crazy imo
This comparison makes no sense why are you even bringing this up lol. It’s like saying “well a doctor makes 350k a year working 65 hours a week so an IB analyst making over 200k makes sense” like what???
Comparing entry level SWE to IB makes sense because the recruiting pool has considerable overlap (a lot of bankers, for example, have CS backgrounds)
i just thought of it because all my friends work in tech and i work in IB that's all lol
Whats the rough comp breakdown for tech to ur knowledge? Thought it was closer to 170-180k for FAANG with like 40k of that in RSUs?
Why do banks get paid more than big 4 firms when they essentially do the same work?? Is accounting really that different from m&a, it's all under finance..

Not sure what you mean by this? Big 4 mainly advises on accounting & tax, IBD advises on M&A and IPO. Why is there such a big gap
re alert
Next up, “why does my surgery cost more than my yearly wellness checkup? They’re both just medical stuff???”
