"Elite Boutique"
Just curious, do people in the industry actually use the term "elite boutique" or is it just a WSO thing?

People call them boutiques but have never heard the exact term "elite boutique" in person before.
I mean I started using it and I’m in banking
I've worked at an "EB" for nearly 10 years now and the only people who use that term are students and analysts. We typically refer to ourselves (and our competitors) as an "independent financial advisory firm", "independent advisor" or sometimes "boutique"
The only people who use that term are students or 1st year analysts. So basically industry virgins.
Word of advice. Don’t use the term, especially with more senior people.
I mostly hear “boutique” or “advisory firm”.
I would probably cringe to death if I heard someone say “elite boutique” in real life.
it's an annoying term to me, just like "minimally invasive surgery." As if anyone ever asked for "maximally invasive surgery."
Agree with above - believe senior bankers may find the word "elite" more offensive than not
