Equity Syndicate = Investment Banking?
My question is really straightforward: Is it ok for an analyst in Equity Syndicate, under Equity Capital Markets, call himself/herself an Investment Banking Analyst? Thank you!

On this forum, people get really up tight about the whole advisory vs capital markets stuff. I'm not in ECM, but I think everyone just refers to themselves as Investment Bankers. What do their MDs call themselves? "I am a Capital Marketer?" Investment Banks underwrite IPOs. Investment Bankers run IPOs. For all things public, use "Investment Banking Analyst."
For things internal, or with highly knowledgeable outsiders, you should probably write "Equity Capital Markets Syndicate Analyst."
