ER to ECM (senior level)

I'm currently in a rotational program after which I will start in ER. While I did a short stint in ECM I didn't like creating ppt slides with an ocd like obsession in the slides (and useless turnovers such as changing colours for the 5th time etc).

ER is generally more interesting on a junior level.  However in the long-term I would like to end up in ECM again. While I've seen changes from ECM to ER on the assoc level (meaning after the analyst stint). I haven't seen it on a director level (where I don't end up doing mindless slides) yet (only one person from Equity sales).

Is it possible to lateral from ER to ECM on a exec director/ director level?
