Evercore 2025 SA Coffee Chats

Just got an email from an analyst at EVC asking for a coffee chat, anybody got any more info on these chats? Are they screenings? How many until first rounds? Any info at all would be helpful, thanks.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, a coffee chat can be seen as a first-round filter. It's a chance for the firm to see if you're a good fit and if you have a passion for the company. It's usually a laid-back meeting, but it can also be as intense as a first-round interview. You might be asked some technical questions, but they're usually not extremely hard.

Remember, it's the employees who forward your resume who determine if you get a coffee chat, and they're usually given to candidates they're interested in. So, it's a good sign that you've been asked for a coffee chat!

As for how many coffee chats until the first rounds, it can vary. But it's important to make a good impression in these chats as they can influence the decision on whether you move forward in the process.

Remember to be yourself, show your passion for the company, and be prepared to answer some technical questions. Good luck!
