Wouldn’t even consider them as classic IB. No exit opps to buy side, but will learn a lot about the structure of PE firms. Would take any BB/MM over this group unless you are super interested in this field.
Awesome, thanks a lot.
Hope it's understood this is mainly fundraising on the primaries side, and on the secondaries side it's advising sponsors/LPs on liquidity solutions. very very different from traditional investment banking
Seems the space is growing rapidly since the original post
Secondaries side GP-led deals are pretty much sell side M&A processes for what it's worth. Comp is the same is their classic coverage groups and hours just as bad. It's pretty darn similar to traditional IB especially if you consider sponsors as a "traditional investment banking" group.
Do you think it's possible to lateral from a FoF secondaries platform to investment banking PCA space?
Anyone have any insight on interviews? I’ve heard this side of the bank is generally less “technical” - is that reflected in the recruiting process? I know evercore is generally very technical for m&a.
If you’re going to stay in PCA this is a great place to be. Nigel Dawn is a force.
their analysts and associates also get grinded to the bones
Can confirm
Isnt this group run by a guy named saul Goodman? I would never not be able to make jokes about it at work
I believe Saul Goodman runs the GP stake advisory group, bit more niche but insane amount of fee per capita (like ridiculous)
