Ah, diving into the world of EVR in London, are we? Based on the most helpful WSO content, EVR (Evercore) is known for its strong presence in the investment banking sector, including M&A. While the context doesn't specifically mention the Debt Advisory team in London, we can infer some insights based on Evercore's overall reputation and performance in the region.
Evercore's London office, like its counterparts, is involved in high-profile transactions, which suggests that the Debt Advisory team would also be engaged in significant deals. This involvement in large and high-profile transactions can provide a rich experience for professionals working in this team.
As for exit opportunities, working in a reputable firm like Evercore generally opens many doors. The experience gained in dealing with complex transactions, financial modeling, and client interactions is highly valued across the finance industry. Potential exit opportunities could include moving into private equity, hedge funds, or corporate finance roles within industry giants. The skills acquired in a debt advisory role are transferable to many areas within finance, making it far from a dead-end career path.
Remember, the key to leveraging any position into great exit opportunities lies in the experience you gain, the network you build, and how you position yourself for the next step in your career. Evercore's reputation and the high caliber of transactions they are involved in would likely contribute positively to one's career trajectory.

LevFin team without the ability to offer balance sheet support.
Thanks, any idea of the common exit opps in this team? I'm getting it's mostly credit/debt based funds but any good for PE?
Just like any EB - helps sector teams secure staple financing on sell-sides
I would not recommend.
Reasons below, among others:
1) deal experience from my perspective is quite vanilla. You won’t be very hands on on models and deals are usually led by the industry teams
2) exits are mid (at best). You will usually struggle getting traction from credit funds, and LevFin is still the preferred route. PE, especially in MF level is out of the question
3) culture is also mid, and the team is quite sweaty
disagree that it is "vanilla." They do some super complex balance sheet stuff (liabiltiy management etc.) but none of that is applicable to PE / LBOs in general. This is more capital structure advise (but it's not restructuring)
Culture is sweaty as F***. You are going to work your balls off.
