Excel, VBA practice projects

I've been learning some excel 2007, vba, and powerpont.

The problem is that i'm learning primarily from books, and I need things to apply my new skilsl to for them to really stick. I'm already working on optimizing all of the spreadsheets I use in my everyday life.

Anyone have ideas for clever little (or big) projects I could undertake to help me master these skills. Any hands on online tutorials?

I'm mostly looking for excel / vba work.

1) You use spreadsheets in your everyday life...wtf for? You can't figure out how to split your internet porn subscriptions between your roommates?

2) I would commit heinous acts of violence against kittens and puppies if I had to use Excel 2007. More than I fear my eventual death, I fear the day when I am forced to use Excel 2007 by the powers that be. Use 2003

3) Stop using words/phrases like 'clever little projects' this is not kindergarten nor are you a grandmother. Use language more along the lines of 'value-added projects' and talk about how you want to leverage shit

4) If you give me the login and password to aforementioned internet porn pay sites, I will gladly outsource all of the Excel work that I have to do on a daily basis to you and you can do it and send it back

lol rooster

1) finances, sports (like to see if i'm getting better/ stronger/faster), and other things. I pay for my porn myself (big ballin')

2) Excel 2k10 is almost out. I assumed everyone would already be on the 2007 train by now.

3,4) This is for personal practice, not work. Building something completely useful but complex would be better practice than something useful but easy. Send me some of your excel work and i'll do it. I make no guarantees as to quality and expect to recieve at least 25% of your year end bonus

I too would like to practice with VBA. however, a lot of firms that have the funds buy programs where you don't have to actually create the macros. And JPM uses their own software
