Experienced Lateral to J.P. Morgan - Coverage

I'm in the early stages of interviewing for a lateral position at JPM into a coverage group I currently cover, coming from a non bulge bracket bank. I have a lot of experience / closed deals at my bank for the time I've been here.

Could someone with knowledge of the lateral process at JPM please share what I can expect in terms of the interview process? Most interested in:

-# of rounds -interview format - can I expect more technical questions similar to entry level, or will it be all deal related? -how can I shift the odds in my favor, assuming I pass the phone screen? Would networking / reaching out to the senior guys while being in the process provide a leg up?

I imagine this will be a very competitive process given it is one their top groups, but my background / experience align very well. Just looking to see what I can do to really stand out. Thanks.

I doubt it's much different than at other banks. I got a first-round interview with JPM when I went through lateraling by applying online and then reaching out to both an associate and an MD in the group. The associate replied almost immediately to schedule some time to connect. Unfortunately, I did not make it past the first round, so cannot give any more insight there.
