Extremely solid interview then no response

Had an extremely solid interview last week where at the ended the concluded by asking how I knew all this, and where my understanding of this information came from, etc. they said I would hear by the end of the week, we are now a week past the initial quote do you think this process is over, what might the delay be?

What could have changed from then vs. now.

Banks take time. Nowadays recruiters know they have the leverage, so they make you wait. It sucks, but you kinda just have to live with it.

I sent a follow up note to one of the people in the interview and got nothing - do you recommend I flip a note to the VP, who I have connected with prior who is leading the process but wasn’t in that interview.

Super annoying because we all know when an interview goes good and the signals and them asking how I had this in-depth knowledge was clearly a good thing that would make me stand out, so it’s not like I’m just blowing smoke up my ass.
