Anyone have any insights into the number of spots available/ conversion rate/ timeline/ comps for fall/winter IB co ops? Are they strictly for third years?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Prospect in IB-M&A, no, I never sleep and so I can respond to any lonely threads (like this one) at all hours of the night. Impressive, I know ;-)
More suggestions...
Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
Generally there are less spots during fall/winter but also less students actively seeking co-op internships, I think Laurier and Waterloo are the only ones who do off cycle. If you're at one of those schools I'm pretty sure the recruiting timeline is set by the school, not sure what the timings like if your not. Conversion rate is a lot lower during off cycle, especially for banking jobs however given the number of people leaving banking I wouldn't be surprised if that's changing - some firms have a preference for students who are in their last co-op term specifically so they can convert them to FT. Comp is the same as summer but most co-op terms are 4 months.
hi,could i pm you about laurier if you know about it?
Sure
I’ve heard some firms only hire registered co-op students. Do you know anything about this by any chance? Thanks!
bump
If the firm only hires co-op students off cycle non co-op students won't be able to see the job posting. Some off cycle postings ask if you're in a registered co-op program but generally firms won't post the job publicly if they only want registered co-op students
