Farewell to WSO

That's my last topic before losing access to my account (random password). I decided to cut all the things in my life which distract me from achieving my goals (WSO for example) and getting into IB is one of those goals. I've fucked around this forum for a while and I've learned 2 or 3 things about the industry. To all of you who can't make it into IB, I will prove that it can be done. I have all the winds against me (geographical region, English as a foreign language, non-target AF, irrelevant degree, etc.) but still, I will FUCKING ACHIEVE IT. It's written in stone. No excuses.

Remember my words. And hopefully, see you soon.

Man the search function is so fucking bad on here it borders on unusable lmao. Sometimes I just tough it out and use specific words that would only ever appear together in the context I want to know about. You can also use google search with "site:wallstreetoasis.com" at the beginning because it indexes better.

Just search up things that are useful like threads asking for tips etc - nothing crazy. Also you can sort by number of upvotes on a given forum to see ones that are more popular threads historically - 50/50 here between dumb humorous threads and particularly useful threads. Also each forum has a "hall of fame" with curated good posts from over the years (some are a bit out of date), such as https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/investment-banking/wso-hall-of-fa… .

WSO's usefulness really depends where you're at in your cycle however - there's definitely a limit to what you can glean from here, but if you absorb a lot of this knowledge before really getting into the thick of recruiting I find it allows you to be precise in how you go about breaking in, rather than those mf's that post on here about how they gave up their social life to break into BofA lmfao.
