Final year internship

Hi all,

I am a final year undergrad at a target uni in the UK and I would like to obtain my first IBD experience. I did not manage to get a summer in IBD in my second-year but I interned as a Finance (FP&A) intern at a big company (Consumer-retail sector) this summer. I've had some M&A-related experience at uni in societies all throughout my undergrad. I wanted to know if people could help me decide on whether focusing on summer internships (even though I'm a finalist) or rather try and get an off-cycle internship. I'm very motivated to finally get an internship and I know it will be tougher as I did not get any summer in IBD. Any tips is appreciated!

I don't know how common it is for final year students to get a summer internship in London. Would appreciate if anybody has some more insights on that.
