FinTech at GS?

I'm currently an AN1 at a lower-tier BB and am looking to learn more about the FinTech space.

I recently had the chance to connect with the FIG team at GS, but I'd be curious to get your perspective on how FinTech coverage is split between FIG and TMT. Heard from some sources that the TMT team (especially in SF) has led many of the firm's FinTech mandates, but I'd love to hear how the coverage model works in practice.

Not sure what the FIG team does but SF TMT handled most recent fintech deals / IPOs like the Robinhood IPO, Chime IPO, Affirm IPO, Stripe Series I, Pismo / Visa, Plaid / Visa, Credit Karma / Intuit, Clearwater Analytics / Permira & WP

Nasdaq/Adenza one might have been handled by the FIG team. More broadly, the FIG fintech team does more market infrastructure type of stuff vs TMT which focuses more on software-oriented or payment fintech companies

FIG is doing more traditional verticals within FinTech. For the most part, the more interesting or techy companies (your Stripe, Revolut, Robinhood etc) are covered by the TMT group. That said, FIG fintech still works on some cool situations (Nasdaq-Adenza, Blackrock-Preqin, LSEG-Refinitiv) etc)
