First analysts from you school, what’s your story?

Some of you are the first men to make it in IB from your semi/non target, what’s your story?

How did you manage coping with the fact that no one from your place was in IB, and, did it change views of your school for your group/team (assuming that you made a good impression).

Background: European non-target non-diversity secured a Summer spot at CS/UBS/BAR in LDN

Just worked my ass off: networked a lot, made a lot of mocks interview, prepared 30-40ish fit questions, knew my technical by heart, always applied day one, perfect polished CV/CL

The only consequence right now is undergraduates from my school reaching out to me asking tons of questions

Not in IB. I will be joining an Eastdil/JLL/CBRE this summer on their capital markets team. I will also be the first from my school to do that. To be honest, I don't think about it. I don't think people really care at my school given that most of them want to be attorneys or some shit like that. I hope that I can leave a good impression with my group. Guess I'm in a similar boat as you.

I don’t think you understand what a semi target is. A semi target still places into IB but not as much as target. Not possible to be the first one to get into IB if you’re at a semi.
