First Generation College Student Diversity Programs

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know of any firms that have programs for first generation college students? Almost every single program I've found has excluded first generation or low-income students. Are there any programs I'm missing? I've gotten into a Capital One program, but that's about all I've been able to find.

None. First gen low income students don’t count as diversity anywhere.

There are first gen programs for SA 23 but they have all pretty much ended, you will now most likely have to apply through the standard recruiting process. I have seen a few first gen stuff but you have to look hard to figure out which places still offer it.

A very large number of banks offer first gen opportunities through summits and even seperate recruiting processes on occasion. Figuring out which banks offer it is something you are capable of doing. They won't post opps now but start checking in October/November/December for first gen opps and start networking then as well. My advice would be to know which places offer it and have your applications out in December (1.5 yrs out from SA). These programs end before regular recruiting so if you miss the deadline there is no going around it.
On a seperate topic, you should definetely keep an eye out for BB/MM sophomore internships as well. This is somewhat new at some places but I wish I had known back then to check them out.
