FMI? Pay/Hours/Deal Flow?
Have a friend interviewing there but I hadn't heard of them so didn't have much to offer. Looks like they are based out of Raleigh but he's in contact with their Houston office.
Guy he spoke with seemed to indicate solid hours with proportional pay (decent discount to street)
Any insights?

anybody have any color to add?
Can confirm, hours are very chill, not much in terms of deal flow, will probably clear close to 100k all in as an analyst.
Thanks! Any associate comp ball park?
low
Curious if anybody has an update here around hours and comp?
No clue on actual figures, but know of a guy who left Moelis as an Associate to be a VP at FMI Houston and then decided to dip after 7 months to go corporate.....so....comp is probably garbage and not worth the discount if you're willing to leave to a corporate.
Helpful, thank you.
On the surface I'd take a pay cut if hours were cut by similar amount and still doing deals. But sounds like this may not be the ticket.
You may be doing some deals, but they'll be much lower fees, hairy deals (harder to get done) and inevitably, the workload is never that low
Bump. Curious if anyone has recent insight on any of their offices.
Bump. Anyone have any insight into pay/hours/culture as of 2023?
Bump. Any insight would be appreciated!
What do you want to know?
Essentially care about the following:
-What are hours typically? For perspective, I am typically 1-2am Sunday through Thursday and it's getting a little tiring. More nights past 3am than before midnight. What could I reasonably expect at FMI? Obviously I know it varies, but what are frequent weekday nights looking like, and what do Saturday / Sundays look like?
-How steep is the pay discount? Are associates clearing 200 all in or lower? 175+ ? Would love any sort of general ranges.
-Do they close transactions? I understand they may be small / somewhat difficult, but are they getting over the line?
I'm legitimately interested in the sectors they cover and have ties to the area that would make this a compelling opportunity, but hoping for a little more color
