Forbes 30 under 30

Forbes is doing this interesting feature called "30 under 30," which is a list of 30 people under the age of 30, spanning across 12 different areas, who are considered to be at the top of their respective fields and will likely be tomorrow's leaders. A few of them are familiar names, the most obvious being mark zuckerberg. But the vast majority are those who will probably gain more recognition in the coming years.

Here's the list for finance.

Clever got me this far Then tricky got me in Eye on what i'm after I don't need another friend Smile and drop the cliche 'Till you think I'm listening I take just what I came for Then I'm out the door again

Interesting, something I always like to do, is dig up this list of a few years ago, and see where they are now. I can hand on heart say that noone I admire/aspire to be like (and there's a good few in that list), have ever been on this 30 under 30 stuff.

It's the same as with the child chess prodigies, where are they now?

Reading some of those numbers, normal distribution, tail end, and high sample population spring to mind.

I was just about to say the same thing. Interesting how some tend to "burn out" or something. But got to admit, that's some crazy stuff.

Surprised this hasn't devolved into a Michelle Mayer VS Ernestine Fu thread. Heh. Gotta say though I'm a little puzzled with what this chick is trying to do:

Former Morgan Stanley trader has raised $25 million to start site geared at making financial information accessible to women.

Props to the guys who made the 30 under 30, every day they hustlin'?

A senior associate at PwC?

I have no doubt that the guy is doing great, but he's only a Sr. Associate.

Maybe he's off cultivating his ideas on his own in a sales role, but otherwise I could get hired on to be this guy's boss.

dabanoboThis article is an embarrassment to Forbes... "Aced the Series 7"? Lol... with three authors, you'd hope one of them would have a clue. Apparently not.

Yeah, I laughed my butt off when I read that. To be fair though, maybe they meant the guy got every question right on the exam, which is definitely laudable but not worthy of being mentioned on Forbes.

On the other hand, the people featured in science, tech, social&mobile lists, are pretty damm impressive.

some of these guys are shit hot, but majority of that list is just lol. I mean associate at blackstone isgood, but its not list worthy imho.

Same for some of the "got promoted to vp one year early" shit etc.
