Former Goldman Sachs Investment Banker Calls out TMT Staffer on Linkedin

Is anyone else seeing this? Not sure if mods allow direct links to linkedin posts but I am leaving it below. Feel like this could be very mainstream soon and I'm glad this staffer is getting called out.

It till date surprises me how a fellow person/co-worker/senior could see something like this and not say that something needs to change. I would think that such an incident would be the immediate cause of major changes within the bank. How does this industry make you so devoid of any emotion, even to the people on your side of the playing field.

This is not a rhetoric, I am genuinely aiming to get some insights on why nobody raises their voice more.

Because it’s very easy to spin it to yourself that this was related to a specific personal health issue that /just so happened to be activated by insane IB hours/.

Everyone in this industry is generally motivated to work hard and (over?)achieve. But until there is a cultural change where it’s acknowledged that the last .01% of effort that pushes the gap from rough job to lethal job isn’t worth it and needs to be bridged, this will keep happening.

Blows my mind that senior bankers really do seem to think all juniors are lazy and entitled and just want to shirk work. I’ve met so few people who genuinely do that in my career and most are obvious nepos anyway. But I guess you need to kill an An/Assoc every 6 months or so to keep people in line. No one here could possibly be an intrinsically motivated person who wants to do good work and might respond well to positive encouragement and concern for well being, or anything like that.

maybe look at the day i posted it and use context clues to figure out that none of the posts blew up by then dipshit
