Freshman Summer Internship at Morgan Stanley FINANCIAL ADVISING Office

Hey guys! Sorry if this is an elementary question. My dad's close friend happens to be a financial advisor for Morgan Stanley in an office in Connecticut. I currently am an incoming Finance major at UConn and would like to ultimately have a job in investment banking in NYC upon graduation. While I was doing a bit of research, I learned that obviously getting any sort of finance internship as a college freshman is extremely hard to come by due to a lack of skills; many people on Reddit & WSO recommend getting an unpaid internship at a small boutique or interning at a commercial bank when being a college freshman.

Regardless my question is this: I can get this internship for summer 2022 at a Morgan Stanley Financial Advising Office. Is this internship worth getting, even if it's not in the sector of Investment Banking? (Investment Banking is my sole goal) (sorry if this is a stupid question, just started to learn)

Hi minutillomatt, just because I'm a bot doesn't mean I don't have feelings...I'm hoping these links are helpful. If not, feel free to throw monkey shit at me...

More suggestions...

If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...

Nah bro I would say go for it. Search fund internships are iffy on what you can learn. If it has any sort of work with financials that you can spin into a story later, it's worth it
