From 2 years of Banking to PE

What's up everyone? Just wondering if 2 years of IB experience is enough to get into and stay in PE, some of my friends have mentioned that you need your MBA after 2 years in PE to stay in PE. Is this true? Thanks!

Typically most of the UMM and MF firms will promote very few of their associates. It is very tough (not impossible) to remain with the fund so that is why many leave for other opportunities or an MBA
