FT Recruiting 2027

Incoming GE intern but looking to recruit FT for IB. Non-target with a solid gpa and decent prior experience. Given I'm not taking a traditional IB SA route, when should I start networking? What banks can I realistically target?

Totally possible. Interned in LMM PE and recruited FT to a MM in a top industry group (no return offer). If you have solid experience, you shouldn't worry about getting interviews.

Can you share more about your process? Going to be in CIB group but not sure who is the best people to network with or when cold apps open.

Would probably recommend focusing on Alum. Very important to target specific industry/product groups where you think you have an advantage. I had a few interviews and calls during the summer but the vast majority of FT hiring happens in the 1-2 months right after summer ends.

Agree with the above, but also be wary that he prob got very lucky with not having a return offer. Most banks if not all will ding you if you do not have a RO. So would focus on networking and everything in the last 3 weeks, because at that point you know if you will get the return.
