FT recruiting without return

I get this topic has been covered extensively but I don’t know what to do. I interned at a solid shop (EB/BB) this summer and was one of the only interns in my group to not get a return. When I tell ft employers this it seems I instantly get cut from their processes, even though my techs are rock solid and my behaviorals are good as well (have been told by people mock interviewing me).

Got cut from BB due to a few mistakes I made early on that I rectified by the end but it didnt matter. Curious as to what i should do, should i lie?
