Full time analyst starting mid July yet to hear from HR (NYC)

I am an analyst starting full time in mid July at a European bank in NYC (BNP / ING / Soc Gen / Credit Agricole) and yet to hear from HR with further information on the initial mid July start date. I have been in contact with HR and have received no definitive answer.

Any ideas what I should be considering at this point? Signing a July NYC lease? A canceled program? Delay in start?

All thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Are you in IB? Have they sent you training materials for your series exams? That could be a good indication that they are continuing to move forward with your program. With everything going on right now I don't think anyone really knows what is going to happen.

Some BB's have pushed their starts to August while other BB's have not even given out a start date for their full-times. I think everyone is waiting to see how the current situation will play out and some firms are just stalling and taking their time to do so.

It doesn't make sense to sign a lease if you do not have a start date yet. I would wait till you have your start date and then find a place. Some firms may even be pursuing more WFH opportunities.
