GA Tech Transfer
I attend a relatively unknown school in GA and was considering transferring to GA Tech. My reasoning for transferring is because they can open more doors for me there. I was wondering. it considered a target ? I reviewed several articles on this site and could not find and received mix responses.
what are your thoughts on that school?
Is it a good school for investment banking
no. best ocr we get is suntrust. then again networking conquers all.

Transfer to Emory.
Agree with posters above, Gatech is not really IB target but should help if you want S&T. Citadel used to recruit from there.
It's not a target for the banks, but Ga. Tech sure beats NYU or any Georgia state school for that matter at placing folks into technology and engineering jobs.
1.) Get an EE degree. 2.) Work at Google for two years. 3.) GETCO
It's that easy huh? ;)
Google is a tough one to crack, they aren't looking for experts, they are looking for jacks of all trades...which makes their hiring process very strange. I.E. I am an EE, but had to interview for a software engineering position(there only listed hardware positions are terrible data center jobs)...I got quizzed on stuff they knew I hadn't looked at since sophomore year(they had my transcripts in front of them and soph was 6 years ago). And when i talked about my research, the interviewer had no clue what I was talking about...so I got dinged and it left with a bad taste in my mouth. I can almost see why google doesn't innovate as much as they used to. They just want people they can plug into any job and be serviceable.
Sorry bout the tangent!
Emory would be a better bet, but as someone else mentioned, networking is very important.

If he has the HOPE scholarship then tuition is free.
Lots of kids go to Suntrust and atlanta boutiques, but I know of a few people that went to NY (GS, JPM) and Houston. But if you would go, don't waste your time doing management and qualify yourself with an engineering degree. Consulting places very well though if you're into that sort of thing.
You can get anywhere from GT with good grades, ec's, and networking. A engineering degree from GT is something everyone respects. Emory has a better "brand," but you can do well for yourself at GT or UGA. It just takes harder work and relentless networking.
SunTrust and Stephens are in the cards but you need to work hard and network like crazy. I know Stephens would be open to you and they are not a firm to laugh at by any means
