Yeah I would mention your upcoming offer when networking and say you're interested in learning more about how you can ace your internship etc - people were always happy to give me advice on how to do well during my internship after I got my offer and before I started.

There will be no headcount issues so severe that no-one gets offers, either in your group or elsewhere in the bank as someone said - you just need to make sure you're one of the offer recipients. While it's not necessarily going to be a nail in the coffin if you don't get an offer (especially if you are applying to move to coverage groups from a product group) it will make your life relatively easy versus making it an uphill battle and there is no point dealing with the added work and stress when it's avoidable

If you come from a target and have a BB IBD on your resume, you just need one thing to be a very attractive candidate for banks doing FT recruiting. That one thing is a FT offer from your group i.e. DCM. Even if DCM does not have a headcount (highly unlikely though), as long as you're good, you'll get a FT offer from some other group. Unlike smaller shops, BBs can make space for you if you're great.

Just focus on working very hard next summer in your DCM group and don't tell your team about your interest in coverage or other product groups. Get a full time and shop around.
