Ghosted or Slow Interview Process?
Interviewed for a role about 3 weeks ago now. Was told that they would take a few weeks to get back to me and to "watch my inbox". Alumni that I spoke with also confirmed that they have a slow interview process.
I thought I did well in the interview but it's been radio silence since then. I've reached out to every team member that I interviewed with and none of them have gotten back to me.
Cut my losses on this or keep trying?
It depends, were they actively looking to fill a spot, or more opportunistically? If they stated they actively need someone, then it's probably too late, but opportunistically can take months at a time in some cases
Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for the interview process to take a bit longer than expected. It's also not unusual to experience periods of silence during this process. Here's what I suggest:
Keep your spirits up: It's easy to feel disheartened when you don't hear back immediately, but remember, the hiring process can often take longer than anticipated.
Continue reaching out: It's good that you've reached out to the team members you interviewed with. If you haven't already, consider sending a follow-up email to the HR or the hiring manager. Be polite and express your continued interest in the role.
Stay prepared: Use this time to further polish your skills and prepare for potential next steps in the interview process.
Keep applying: While you're waiting to hear back, don't stop applying to other firms. It's always good to have options and it keeps you proactive.
Remember, the waiting game is a part of the process. Don't let it get you down. Keep swinging from tree to tree, you'll find the right branch soon!
