Giving Back to Community - Corporate Finance Executive/Analyst Opening in London

Just made the jump from a Corporate Finance Executive at a boutique shop in London into the buyside as an Investment Associate.

My firm is hiring for a replacement asap and wanted to help them as well as give back to the WSO community.

DM me for more info but below is the spec.

The firm

Our services include advice on fundraisings on ECM, corporate broking, private and alternative financing and M&A.  We act for a diverse range of public and private companies, ensuring that a top quality advisory and broking service is provided to them on an ongoing basis. Historically, our strength has been in the natural resources sector and in recent years we have expanded into other sectors, including emerging technologies, industrials, and support services.

The Corporate Finance team are seeking to recruit an exceptional individual to join our team in London as an Executive or Analyst; someone who can work on transactions, client relationships and interact effectively with colleagues (both junior and senior).

Responsibilities include

  • Assisting with origination and execution of corporate finance M&A and ECM transactions;
  • Undertaking valuation exercises including trading comps, precedent transactions and discounted cash flow models;
  • Undertaking detailed sector research on an ad-hoc basis;
  • Collating and administering regulatory documents on transactions;
  • Liaising with the Research and Sales teams on ECM roadshows and/or transactions;

The right candidate will benefit from significant interaction with the day to day business of Corporate Broking, working with colleagues in Sales and Research, together with Corporate Finance colleagues in Shanghai, Kenya and South Africa.  There will be regular client contact as well as hands on involvement in supporting the developing pipeline of Corporate transactions through preparation of the necessary documentation, and co-ordinating the accounting and legal processes required to support deals.

The Corporate Finance team operates with a relatively flat structure and in small transaction teams, which will provide significant responsibility and exposure on transactions.  The right candidate will have some relevant knowledge or experience of UK Corporate Transactions both public and private.  Public company experience should include AIM, Aquis, and/or the Main Market as well as a demonstrable experience and passion for Equity markets.

Requirements:

The successful candidates will need to demonstrate:

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills;
  • Practicality, commercial awareness and a lack of pretension; and,
