Based on previous WSO threads, here's what you need to know about GLC Advisors:

  • Firm Structure: GLC Advisors operates as two distinct entities: a top-notch restructuring (Rx) mini-boutique and a middle-market M&A team based in Denver.
  • Reputation: They are recognized for their solid deal flow and unique situations in addition to traditional restructuring processes. However, they are generally not as competitive against the top 8-10 restructuring firms.
  • Compensation: Compensation is above street level, and almost everyone is from target schools.
  • Culture and Experience:
    • From a junior perspective, GLC offers an incredible experience with lean teams that allow analysts to lead significant work products and have a real impact on deals.
    • The company is supportive of juniors exploring other opportunities and even helps place them in hedge funds (HF) or private equity (PE) firms.
    • Hours are long, typical of restructuring shops, but the learning experience is valuable.
  • Placement: Placement to hedge funds and private equity from GLC has been top-notch, with the company being supportive of juniors who decide to explore other opportunities.

If you have a full-time interview with them, it seems like a solid opportunity, especially if you're looking for a firm that offers significant responsibility and strong placement support.

The Group is a bunch of MDs that spun out of the St. Charles team. They are going to be a LMM shop out of the Denver office, if I am remembering correctly they have both a "tech-ish" team and a generalist team.

The team overall has shown some growth, from the formation of the office I think dating back into the 2014-2016.

I do not know how the office plays into the full GLC strategy, but pay will be on par for Denver (Meaning, not street). Hours can be bad (not protected from bad weekends or long weeks).

Probably can't answer to many more questions, but feel free to ask.
