Goldman Lacking This Past Quarter?
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like Goldman’s been losing its rhythm lately? Barely any offerings, slow M&A (relatively), etc. Like they just haven’t been getting as many deals as Morgan Stanley? I have a buddy who told me this but I just can’t believe it.
A quick google search will show that Goldman was #1 in deal count and value for M&A and equity offerings in 4Q2020 and 2020...

Yeah as a PE associate would think you have capiq/deal logic/ bloomberg to pull league tables.
GS was #1 in M&A for 2020 so not sure what you’re on
At least in my sector they were number one across multiple years, including 2020, in M&A fees. If what they’re doing in m&a is considered losing it, then my firm is fucked.
Weren’t they #1 in ‘21 and #1 Q4’20?
Or are you saying they’ve had a rough 7 business days to start ‘21?
