I haven't worked there but I have a little knowledge from working with them during an internship. Seems like they do smaller lower-MM debt deals (their term sheet with us was for $40MM) with some sort of equity portion also (warrants, convertible debt, sometimes a smaller piece of equity with the debt etc.). You'll probably help out with drafting term sheets and conducting due diligence. Not sure if much modelling is involved but it would primarily be for projecting the stability of the cash flows of the companies they're looking to lend to. Seems like it wouldn't be the most exciting job in the world but having the Goldman name on your resume can't hurt.

If you are talking about the SSG group I know someone that interned there, he said it was higher-yield debt placements of $20-200? million size and other instruments of that sort. Done in the MM.
