Had one for MS, so I'd expect a similar layout. It was a one on one with one of my school alums (a VP). It was pretty chill and he gave an overview of his position, what he does. Asked for my story/background. Let me ask some questions. The end.

It's semi-casual. don't have to dress in a full suit, a polo shirt is fine. just be chill and it's more so an opportunity for you to get a contact name and build a relationship for networking than an interview with the person you're having a chat with

I’m just surprised I was reached out too . I go to a ultra non target school. just wondering what there angle is am I a possible recruit? etc.... is this usually the process, like a “ feeler “ ? or is this literally nothing lol.

I’ve been hearing just keep the convo going, keep it laid back, nothing too serious. also, it says phone call. so I assume it’s strictly on phone and not zoom.

I go to a semi-target and we had to apply for the MS coffee chat. We had to send in our resume and they selected who they wanted to invite.

When you say you were reached out too, did you also get a email inviting you? Was it random and out of the blue? If you were networking with someone at GS, maybe they put you in their system? Tbh i didnt even know GS was having these chats so I'm also curious.

I wouldn't read too much into it but I am pretty sure coffee chats are invite only so take that as you will. Doesn't mean anything since it's up to networking and getitng your resume passed on, but the person who gives u the coffee chat can be networked with to obtain this.

Have some questions ready to ask (u can use wso search function for dozens), be interested in what they're saying and keep the convo organic. i.e. don't ask about their losses this quarter when the last thing the dude on the other side said was something about their college experience/major.

Good luck!
