Good boutique banks in NYC or Cali?
What are some good boutique banks that not many people know about in nyc or cali?
For example, I know Raine Group and PJSC are great firms. Any others?

Realistically though most investment banks involved in marquee transactions are very well known - a Board of Directors is not going to risk getting litigated for a blown process by hiring a non-household name investment bank
any idea how to apply to liontree?
They do OCR at Wharton and other targets I guess, but they don't even have a functional website so I don't think you can just apply if they have no staff dedicated to your university.
Most "households" don't know what investment banks are

I have worked on some deals with FTPartners, they are a boutique specialized in FinTech. They have very strong dealflow in that sector. I believe they have offices in both New York and on the west coast.

Intrepid Investment Bankers, Harris Williams (more middle market, not boutique), Greentech Capital Advisors, Headwaters MB, GCA Savvian, B Riley, DA Davidson, Trinity Capital, Imperial Capital

You can't just "apply" to these firms, most of them operate via head hunters and don't have consistently checked online career portals.
With that said, the way in isn't via applying online but through networking and keeping in touch with your contacts at the firm in the hope of being taken into consideration should a position open up and -- alternatively -- through being contacted by a head hunter.
Also, when employing a head hunter these shops will typically look for someone that's already completed 1+ year as an analyst at a different firm.

Most of these firms use OCR. I know for a fact Intrepid IB, Greentech Capital Advisors, GCA Savvian, B Riley, DA Davidson use OCR for interns

OCR makes sense, my point was that for both interns and FT, applying on their websites is typically a bad option. And that is if they even have an online careers portal to begin with.
