Gordon Dyal & Co. ANA1 TC = $350k??

Just found out Dyal ANA1 TC is $350k...how have I never heard of the place? Is this something that everybody knew about or are they just that secretive (kinda like M. Klein)? Heard head count is only 30 bankers, kinda nuts. I guess they just rip MASSIVE super complex deals; whalehunters.

I should have recruited there instead lol

According to another recent thread pay ranges from 300-500 for Analysts .... Might spend a lot of time pitching but I'm sure you get a great experience as a junior

My roommate worked there. Can confirm pay is real. I used to get back from work pretty late (EB) and sleep around 2-3 am. He almost never got back before that. 7 days a week, and he worked on holidays as well. When I started to go to gym in the morning, we went a month without seeing each other despite living under the same roof. The only proof of life I could find was the packaging of microwave dinners in the trash.

Went through SA / FT process - expect tons of technicals, multiple rounds

They’re absolute whale hunters. They bring in 1-2 multi billion dollar deals per year…and with a 30 person team, you do the math. The guy who heads it is an ex-GS killer.

Heard the juniors get worked to the bone and barely see the sun… there’s no internal graphics team, India team, etc. so they need to do literally every piece of the deals, pitches etc themselves. Probably a great learning experience though.

Funniest

If you’re not printing and binding decks yourself, it’s not even banking

Funny joke but is that actually fair? My guess is the gross transaction value between the two firms would be comparable on a fees/banker basis. Probably better at Dyal actually.

Yeah echoing what everyone else is saying here. One of my really good friends work at the firm. Pay is absurd and analysts do really interesting work as well.

In terms of exits, it’s also getting better cause the firm’s reputation is gaining traction and the seniors are actually very willing to help you exit.

outside looking in here. But still heard from upperclassman that they have some laterals and recently started internship program. looked up some recent deals and some how they are ramping up the volume for multi-billion deals which is insane

Not really a bank though. More of an outsourced Bristol Myers Squibb CorpDev team that pays a ridiculous amount and runs a 9-3am workday.

Just say no to consulting

some previous thread said it's not as bad as ppl say which kinda makes sense. Guessing it's still above average tho

hahaha. Learned more about their Rio Tinto (mining) and some other pharma deals as well tho. Not sure how their future is looking like but seems very specialized and niche

about which part? quite a few ppl lateraled there. Not sure abt their RX part they mostly do advisory work

anyone familiar with their SA/internship process? Are they growing much on the head count side?
