Grad Recruitment 2026
I made it to the final round at a bank for a 2025 grad position for a particular team a few months ago and was told that the offer was going to another candidate. That same team recently opened up applications for grad analyst recruitment recently and I was wondering if its worth reaching out to the bankers that I interviewed with or would it be the case that I'll probably just get automatically screened out. Thanks!
Reaching out to the bankers you interviewed with is definitely worth considering. Based on the most helpful WSO content, here’s why and how you can approach it:
Maintain Relationships: If you had a positive interaction during your previous interviews, reaching out can help reinforce your interest in the team and the role. Bankers often appreciate candidates who show genuine enthusiasm and persistence.
Express Continued Interest: When reaching out, mention that you noticed the team has reopened applications and that you’re still very interested in the opportunity. Highlight any new skills, experiences, or achievements since your last interview to show growth.
Avoid Assumptions: Don’t assume you’ll be automatically screened out. Many banks value candidates who have previously made it to the final round, as it shows you were already a strong contender.
How to Reach Out: Send a polite and concise email to the bankers you interviewed with. Here’s a basic template you can adapt:
