Great Rage bait

Hey everyone,

I’ve read a bunch of threads but this is my first ever post. I finally made it. After 21 networking calls and hours of studying the 300 question BIWS guide, I landed an EB offer at William Blair. I’m ranting but I’m so happy because I was waitlisted from March till now and a spot finally opened up.

Im thinking about how stressed my friends must feel without an EB offer. Not even trying to be mean but that was me for the past 3 months and it was the worst mental state I’ve ever been in. I just cannot wait for next summer.

For those of you who are incoming freshman / rising sophomores, here is some background. I am now a rising junior at a semi-target uni (think BU/Binghamton/Northwestern, Kellogg). Slumped in some classes and recruited with a 3.48 but whatever doesn’t matter now. Member of my investment fund, IB workshop and am DEI (honestly don’t think this changed anything tho).

So first off, I’d like to open my dms/comments to anyone looking for help. I’m super happy to go more in depth with my experiences and career so far. Also can help with technical prep for anyone interested. But I also don’t want to be complacent and am curious on what goes on now? I’ve began networking with my b school’s alumni at MF and Carlyle. Does anyone have any more advice for me as I prepare for pe on cycle / may push for off cycle? Also how should I make a good impression at W&B? I’m thinking of getting gifts for my interviewers or bringing them to a nice dinner (I’m super close to the city so that’s convenient).

Thank you all in advance and have a great weekend. Cheers

Similar to you, I came from a semi-target (think UMass/Penn State/Cornell) and am DEI. I also got an EB by landing Cantor Fitzgerald. We should network sometime.
