Greenhill Chicago In 2023?

I was under the impression that the broader Greenhill brand and franchise were on the decline, but everything I see on this forum points to the opposite for the Chicago office. How does a firm in Chicago place at firms like Silverlake, Thoma Bravo, Warburg, and places that are non-Chicago based PE? How does it stack up to other groups in Chicago and NYC teams for comp / culture / exits?

Best GHL office for exits by far, and one of the top shops in the country imo

Thanks Intern

Please, enlighten me with your superior knowledge, AN1.

"One of the top shops in the country" is crazy.

e: sorry for hurting your feelings, greenhill intern. but this is objectively a bad take.

Moelis Chi is primarily MM transactions and doesn't do many large deals. Tough to compare to Lazard as Lazard Chicago is only RX, but Lazard exits are very good. Evercore Chicago does only paper and packaging transactions, which scares many people away from it. All great offices that place very well.
