I would have the opportunity to do an internship at GS in Audit. I know it's not really relevant for breaking into IBD, but would it be a net positive or not?

I mean it's probably a net positive compared to nothing else. Do you have any other internships lined up?If you go to the audit internship wanting to break into IBD you'll still probably have to network your ass off. That might be easier if you're in the firm, but spots are still slim.
I have a PwC audit internship lined up right after this one. I'm from Europe and my University has one semester fully dedicated to internships.
My plan would be to do the GS audit internship, PwC audit internship, and then try to get an SA role at a BB bank before doing my Master's.
I'm a bit scared that they will see me as an "audit guy" tho, and that my chances to break into IBD might actually be harder due to this.
