I applied for IBD in GS HK. But I received an email saying that I have a finance interview with Securities division. Does that mean they think I'm more of a fit to Sales & Trading? What kind of questions will GS Securities usually ask?

Same happened to me last summer! No idea why, they never explained that and I didn't ask....when they called me for the interview they just wanted to know whether I was interested in S&T as well, obviously I said yes. Anyhow, I got the offer and loved it. Just go for it and see what happens.

All of my questions were fit questions and just some questions to make sure you are following the market an the news in general. Also some questions about things that I put on my resume. But I am not from a finance background, so it might be different if you are from a finance background. Good luck!

I never interviewed with HR....so no, I don't think it's out of the ordinary. I was only interviewed by senior people from the desk that I was going to be placed on.
