GS Mandatory PTO as An1
If I have 22 days annual leave and start in July, will I get to use 11 days (pro-rated) by the end December as an An1? Will GS mandate that I use it up?

At GS in a coverage group now
Didn’t see or hear of any first year analysts in my group taking vacation between the day they hit the desk in August until end of December of their first year. They started taking their first vacations about a month or so ago.
Thanksgiving and Christmas/new years week allows WFH/remote working generally though
Also forgot to add even though you are technically allotted 22 days in the payroll system or whatever it is, it is more realistically like one full week of vacation in the spring and one full week of vacation in the fall/winter, most groups don’t usually want analysts to take vacay during the summer when the summer interns are here — but it can be group dependent.
Do vac days get carried over? My offer letter is a bit vague about this.
I didn’t log any vacation days last year and just checked the system, none of the unused days carried over.
However, Some banks do carry overs up to 5 days or so but they have to be taken by March 31st or so of each year. GS may have done that and I just didn’t realize it.
