GS Real Estate IB - Exit Opps limited to REPE??

Was placed in GS's Real Estate group for SA last summer and although I liked the team and industry, I never had interest in Real Estate prior. I was wondering if being in REIB limits myself to REPE after my analyst stint. Could I transfer groups at GS or could I recruit for traditional PE as well?
