H1-B Process as an A1

Wanted to ask all of the H1-Bs on this website a quick question regarding their process. Recently started FT at a new shop, who are aware of my need to be sponsored, but I have only 1 year of OPT. From what I am aware, there are 2 registration windows, one in September, and one in March.
My question is - does your bank reach out to you when the time is right to begin with the process? Do you have to initiate it yourself? Just want to ensure I don't miss my chance.

Your bank does it, but make sure to be up their a* on it. Remember this is your life so be proactive. The main one is March, with another small drawing in Sept. Truthfully numbers are against you, so be prepared for the worst. Is your new shop international / BB? If so they can always transfer you to London or your home country for a year then bring you back on a different visa.
Thought new administration prioritised high income employees for these visas? IB salaries are comfortably top quartile so I’d say your chances of sponsorship would be higher. OP, im not too well informed on this so take it with a pinch of salt and do your research
You're half right, it is wage weighted now, but thats against peers (and only on base). So its comparing your salary against other investment bankers, corporate bankers, etc. Most large banks are at 100-120 between Corporate, PWM, IB, etc. Not to mention you are being compared to Associates, VPs, etc. So you're at the lowest level as a fresh Analyst usually
