H1-B Process as an A1

Hey everyone,

Wanted to ask all of the H1-Bs on this website a quick question regarding their process. Recently started FT at a new shop, who are aware of my need to be sponsored, but I have only 1 year of OPT. From what I am aware, there are 2 registration windows, one in September, and one in March. 

My question is - does your bank reach out to you when the time is right to begin with the process? Do you have to initiate it yourself? Just want to ensure I don't miss my chance.
