Yes. You get paid for it though. Get used to slaving away on "your own time".
We send our interns material before their start date. Not uncommon. Study hard now and it'll make life much easier as an SA...and by easier I mean you can do work faster, get rewarded with more work. If you're lucky, some of it will be interesting.
