Has IB given you the Patrick Bateman life?

Long time lurker and just finished watching scenes of American psycho at work. Has IB given any of you guys the social life portrayed in film/tv of investment bankers. this would apply to more senior roles of course. are you guys going out to expensive dinners every weekend, meeting women that are like Bateman's gf? or are times that different compared to the wall st heyday of the 80s

wondering what you guys do when your mind is not at work.

My business card is not as pretty (also, it has no watermark)
My father does not practically own the company
I can't get a reservation at Dorsia
I’m not into Murders and Executions mostly
I believe in taking care of myself, but I can't do a thousand crunches

But, thanks to Kodi, I do not have to return video tapes.

Bruh you have to know that the movie is just a joke about how they make a finance bro really extreme. And the suspense lies at the part that he is very wealthy and has a good life. You might thought he will get caught in one of the scenes but no. He never got caught which is the suspense (of him being caught or not). The movie puts you into his perspective. Somewhat you want to be wealth and affluent as him. The other part you aren't into murder and execution. But some of you feel sympathy for a literal psycho because he has fake people surrounding him (which yes a lot of people in this industry as well as other high level industry are very pretentious and materialistic/fake).

I chose this Patrick Bateman username. Because I do share some similarities in my life with him and I feel a deep connection and sympathy. I am not mentally insane and turn into PB after watching it. I rather use this name as a realisation of what path I can take to keep my sanity and still remain chic and cool like Patrick but minus the toxic part.

TLDR: American Psycho is a JOKE THAT THE DIRECTOR IS TRYING TO POINT OUT FOR FINANCE PEOPLE TO REALISE HOW THEY LOOK LIKE WHEN THEY THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE
