Lateraling is too competitive now because the lateral market is dead. More and more layoffs across firms rather than spots opening up; expect to see more BoFA people move as/if the market re-opens. Would assume BoFA and UBS/CS people will take a lot of the lateral spots since those two firms both have had terrible pay and a ton of layoffs (lack of job security) recently, will be very interesting to see how much of talent they lose. Know both paid their high-performing seniors well (have friends at both), but from this forum seems like juniors got shafted so will see a lot of movement from there.
